Five Star Physician Services is a progressive multi-specialty medical practice that provides innovative clinical leadership to sub-acute, rehabilitative and palliative care settings. We are currently seeking to employ full time and part time Geriatric/Adult/Family Medicine Physicians to provide post-acute care services at several of our communities located in Baltimore, Bel Air, Bethesda, Frederick, Maryland and Northern, VA!

Our full time opportunities offer Monday through Friday, flexible hour 8 day schedules, with no weekends and minimal to no call. As a Five Star Physician, you will provide medical house services at our sub-acute, rehabilitative and palliative-care institutions. You will be responsible for history and physical exams and medical rounds. You will also provide cross coverage as needed by colleague medical staff; perform evaluations on patients with changes in condition; round on assigned patients and patients as requested by community staff; collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and maintain compliance with all community and Five Star Physician quality initiatives.

Q: Where do you service?

A: Five Star services post-acute and long term care communities including Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Assisted Living and Continuing Care Retirement Communities in Maryland, Northern Virginia and Southern Delaware.

Q: What are the normal business hours in which Five Star clinicians operate?

A: Between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM Weekdays. Our clinicians operate on flexible schedules based on the needs of the facilities and the patients.

Q: Do your clinicians take calls after work hours and on weekends?

A: Five Star has a centralized call center team strictly dedicated to taking calls after normal business hours and all weekend to relieve our daytime Physicians and Nurse Practitioners. Five Star’s call center sets the bar for continuity and quality of care. This is unmatched in the industry.

Q: Are your clinicians required to complete any Five Star training?

A: Five Star clinicians complete a thorough clinical orientation program, designed and managed by our Chief Medical Officer, offering instruction, guidance and support beginning their first day with Five Star.

Q: Are your clinicians expected to have a high volume of travel to accommodate their facilities?

A: It is our desire to place clinicians within a concentrated area from their prospective facility based on the location of the clinician and needs of the facilities in their surrounding areas.

A: Our post-acute specialty group is accustomed to treating higher acuity patients and is ideal for clinicians who are seeking the challenge of practicing acute-care medicine in a post-acute setting with the flexibility it can afford. We provide more of a work-life balance with flexible schedules, shorter shifts and no weekend requirements.
